Introduction
My research is based on the systematics and taxonomy of pollinators and arthropods associated with pollinators, mainly parasitic or phoretic lineages. My main study groups are bees (Anthophila) and the order Strepsiptera.

Ceratina Latreille is a cosmopolitan genus with around 380 described species, typically small in size and exhibiting primitive social structures; their habit of nesting in dry plant stems has earned them the common name of small carpenter bees. This work presents an addition to the diversity of the genus in Mexico, with the description of Ceratina...
Citizen science has become a key tool for studying various interactions between organisms, mainly insects. This research shows how community science has allowed the host of Coriophagus casui Cowley, a species of strepsipteran endemic to New Zealand, to be known. Based on various observations made in Auckland, it was found that its host is the cicad...
Halictoxenos is a genus of parasites with a mainly holarctic distribution and exclusive parasite of bees of the Halictinae subfamily. In this work, we describe a new species from Mexico, parasite of the halictid Lasioglossum exiguum and with a known distribution in locations of central and southern Veracruz. The delimitation of this species is supp...
The first record of the genus Brasixenos Kogan & Oliveira is presented for Mexico with the description of B. mesoamericanus, a species found in localities from central Veracruz state. The males of this species are characterized by the mouthparts shape, wing venation, and genitalia. The females are identified by their reduced size and the mandible m...
Megachile saulcyi (Guérin-Méneville, 1844) is reported for first time cutting pieces from a plastic bag that are used for the construction of its nest, this being the first record of a bee performing this activity in Chile. The growing problem of solitary bees that use plastic for the construction of cells for their nest is analyzed as well as the...
