Project “Strengthening Governance Capacity for Smart Sustainable Cities/s2CityGov” in the line of “Cooperation for Innovation and the exchange of good practices - Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education”. This is a consortium of 13 institutions coming from 4 European countries (Austria, Estonia, Holland and Poland) and 4 Latin American countries (Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Chile).

The project aims at improving the quality of learning and teaching tools, methodologies and pedagogical approaches in the Latin America region. To this end, the project will develop teaching content and ICT-based learning outcomes to build specific competencies in the area of Smart Sustainable Cities and deliver such content using ICT-based practices to students from different levels of education. Under the priorities for Latina America, the proposed curriculum development is focused but not limited to Business and Administration and Information and Communication Technologies, which evidences the interdisciplinary nature of this project. This aim will be achieved by: 1. providing up to date content based on inputs from associated partners (municipalities) 2. delivering international courses (EU professors, international market, English content) 3. delivering of new curricula 4. creating a platform for exchanging experiences among the partners.

The SmartGov project aims to create new support tools that effectively incorporate linked open data and social media into fuzzy cognitive maps (FCMs). FCMs are useful modelling and visualization tools for discussing policy scenarios between citizens and governments. The developed tools will be tested and implemented in four European cities.
