Introduction
Already finished a PhD on Thermal Energy Storage (TES) and thermal properties of different Phase Change Materials (PCM). I have worked specially on the DSC technique, but also with the TGA and the THB (thermal conductivity) techniques, the Liquid Vapor Equilibrium, the densimeter and the viscosimeter.

The renovation of buildings is key to the fight against climate change and offers opportunities to fix the population in rural areas, revalue their heritage and help decongest cities. In addition, it has a lower environmental impact than new construction. With this contribution, the energy study for the rehabilitation of the old Abbey of Salas de B...

Architecture, Engineering and Construction are currently undergoing an energy-digital transition towards a decarbonised and sustainable scene. Energy assessment of buildings through Building Energy Modelling tools allows for in-depth analyses for energy optimization and establishing quantitative proposals for building improvement. This paper shows...

The experimental and modelling excess enthalpy, H E , data for the following binary and ternary mixtures: methylcyclohexane (1) + 1-hexene (2), 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol (1) + 1-hexene (2) + cyclohexane (3), and 2-(2-ethoxyethoxy)ethanol (1) + methylcyclohexane (2) + 1-hexene (3) are studied in this work at two different temperatures (298.15 and 31...

International reports on energy consumption indicate that 50 % of it corresponds to buildings which are also responsible for 30 % of greenhouse gas emissions, the main cause of climate change. This paper presents the study of measures to improve the thermal systems of an existing residential building located in Burgos (Spain). The energy demands, e...
Conference Paper
Full-text available
Approximately 50 % of energy consumption, as well as 30 % of greenhouse gas emissions, are originated from buildings. These emissions are mainly produced by burning fossil fuels. International organizations are promoting policies to reduce the environmental impact of buildings, both new and existing ones that are being rehabilitated.

Enc...

Interest in phase change materials keeps on rising as thermal energy storage grows in popularity in the scientific community as a promising complement for renewable energies in the future. Extending the possibilities beyond pure compounds, the use of mixtures (especially eutectics) widens the range of suitable phase change materials (PCM) available...

Mobility of doctoral students is considered a critical factor which contributes to the doctoral graduate research performance and the knowledge transfer. The research productivity of doctoral students is still more critical for those novel research groups which have to overcome several barriers before they reach a reasonable stability in research p...

This work reports the experimental density data for the binary mixtures of n-heptane or methylcyclohexane + di-isopropyl ether, measured over the full composition range between 0.1 and 140 MPa, and for temperatures from 298.15 to 393.15 K, by means of a vibrating tube densitometer calibrated with an uncertainty of 0.0007 g·cm −3. Then, the experime...

Measuring thermo-physical properties of phase change materials (PCM) in a consistent and reliable manner is essential for system layout of thermal energy storages and correspondingly material selection. Only if basic properties are assessed in a comparable way a selection process leads to the top candidate for any given application and thus enhance...

Isobaric vapor–liquid equilibria (VLE) at 50.0, 101.3, and 200.0 kPa, have been measured for the binary system methyl nonafluorobutyl ether (x1) HFE-7100 + (1 – x1) 2-propanol. Thermodynamic consistency was checked by applying the Wisniak point to point and area tests, as well as the Fredenslund point to the point test. Vapor–liquid equilibrium dat...
