Introduction
My broad research focus is zoonotic virology and the application of holistic approaches to better understand these viruses and their natural hosts. My research work includes outbreak investigation, reservoir and vector studies, developing and applying novel diagnostic and sequencing techniques and classical virological work with highly pathogenic viral agents at BSL-4 environment. I believe in the importance of interdisciplinarity to better understand emerging viruses.
