Introduction
Currently an Internal Research Fellow at ESA ESTEC, Netherlands with a focus on Lunar Samples, Research and Application. My daily role focuses on ensuring the implementation of great science in upcoming and future human and robotic missions beyond LEO, with a particular focus on the Moon. I am also a member of the Consortium for the Advanced Analysis of Apollo Samples, contributing to the opening and analyses of a specially curated Apollo 17 core sample that has remained sealed since its return in 1972. This exciting new research project is part of the Apollo Next Generation Sample Analysis Program (ANGSA).

On the 50th anniversary since humans first set foot on the Moon, John Pernet-Fisher, Francesca McDonald, Ryan Zeigler and Katherine Joy take a look back at the legacies of the Apollo programme.
The Earth and Moon are widely believed to have a common origin. Studying the Earth and the Moon in parallel hence provides a more complete picture of their heavy halogen history, and adds to developing an understanding of volatiles in the Earth-Moon system.
The first study in the thesis uses neutron irradiated noble gas mass spectrometry (NI-NGMS)...
The International Space Exploration Coordination Group (ISECG) developed an integrated Global Exploration Roadmap (GER) that outlines plans for human-assisted sample return from the lunar surface in ∼2024 and for human presence on the lunar surface in ∼2028. Previous studies have identified the Schrödinger basin, situated on the far side of the Moo...
Francesca McDonald, Dayl Martin, Natalie Curran and Abigail Calzada-Diaz summarize the research achieved by summer interns at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in Houston.
Introduction: Shoemaker's classic map of Meteor Crater [1] provides a clear picture of the continuous ejecta blanket, but the map is complete to only 1 crater radii and extends to only 1.75 crater radii in two lim-ited areas. No attempt was made to map discontinuous ejecta. He later suggested [2] that a Moenkopi ridge north of the crater was once c...
