In addition to analyzing these statistics, a survey was sent to 544 researchers, of which 205 answered. Most researchers try to be innovative, because 62.2% take time to think of innovative ideas every week. And they seem innovative because...

This is a proposal to promote innovation in university students. On the one hand, the students should elaborate a paper on an innovative idea of his or her own and try to refute its originality. On the other hand, a system of 23 measures has been designed to train students in innovative thinking, to broaden their achievements, to evaluate them and...
We comment on a survey done to the donors of four major Spanish non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The main objective of the survey is to try to improve their revenue and functionality. We sent it to 38,794 donors and received 4,334 valid responses. The survey may have been capable in itself of increasing the number of donors that recommend the...
We analyze if it is worthwhile for Nongovernmental Organizations (NGOs) to ask donors for creativity suggestions. First, we sent a survey asking for innovative ideas to 38,794 donors to four of the most relevant Spanish NGOs. In a second phase, we asked Spanish NGOs to evaluate their interest in the list of innovative ideas derived from the first s...
Several theoretical analyses are carried out, starting with the critical review of the most relevant literature, particularly over the situation of Microsoft with respect to other technology firms and on the relationship between territory and innovation. The core of the paper is a survey of the programmers and computer related consultants at Micros...
This article comments upon the situation of sprawl in Spain and Madrid, especially residential sprawl. It does not appear to be a serious problem due to its low starting point, but artificial surface and residential sprawl is growing rapidly. For that reason, it may be an issue in the future. Between 2000 and 2006, urban residential land use grew 0...
Most authors seem to consider low-density urban sprawls with single-family housing to be less sustainable than a compact city, although some authors think the opposite. In this article we will analyze the debate between compact cities and dispersed cities, artificial surface growth in Spain and, above all, the number, evolution and distribution of...
1.-GEOISM AND COSMOISM In 1960, Dr. in Architecture Antonio Lamela brought up the issue of the need for territorial organisation from a planetary context to supra municipal one. He published a book in the mid-70's developing these ideas, (Lamela, 1976). He named this idea, which he has been developing ever since, Geoism (Lamela 2003). One can defin...

Tax differentials may be an important locational factor, not only inside metropolitan areas, but also at other spatial scales. This conclusion is reached after refuting the main theoretical arguments against the effects of taxes on location and after proving that tax differentials in many cases can increase or decrease profits more than any other c...
This study concludes that tax differencials may be an important locational factor, not only inside metropolitan areas, but also at other spatial scales. This finding is against what it is commonly believe among academics, and against what I expect at the onset of my research. This conclusion is reached after proving that tax differentials in many c...

In my online surveys I have to tried to obtain the collaboration of organizations, which have to send the survey to their employees or affiliates. I made one to be distributed to the employees of the 52 biggest businesses in one sector. Almost nobody collaborated. The main problem may have been that my emails very seldom reach the top positions in the company. Now I am planning to do an online survey to the donors of non-profit organizations. Please, do you have any suggestions about how to obtain a better collaboration result from non-profit organizations, so that they send by email my survey to their donors? I believe that the survey is of great interest to the non-profit organization, but I am afraid that even so they will not collaborate.
