Introduction. Subjective perception of effort, measured via session Rating of Perceived Exertion (sRPE), is a valuable tool for optimizing training load, preventing overtraining, and enhancing athlete performance in Brazilian JiuJitsu (BJJ). Objective. This systematic review and meta-analysis investigated the application of sRPE to assess ITL in BJ...
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the intra-test reliability of countermovement push-up (CMPU) in semi-professional kickboxing athletes and to analyze the association with anthropometric measurements of the upper limb. Methods: 8 semi-professional kickboxing athletes (7 male and 1 female athletes) underwent a series of assessments, includi...
This study investigated the critical aspect of match intensity in MMA bouts and its impact on performance. MMA is a physically demanding sport, and understanding the dynamics of intensity throughout matches is essential for both athletes and trainers. To achieve this goal, we adhered to the PRISMA guidelines for comprehensive and ethical reporting...
The present study related to boxing athletes' mental toughness and physical fitness performances with Big Five Factors. For this, the sample was composed of eleven recreational boxers who competed at the state level and were regularly training (technical and tactical) 4 times a week during the evaluation period. The 44-item Big Five Inventory (BFI)...
Knowledge about the prevalence of concussion in combat sports is important information to keep athletes' and practitioners' physical integrity in different modalities such as Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ). Therefore, this study aimed to compare concussions incidence in BJJ between men and women practitioners. A randomized sample of 779 (689 men and 90...
The present study is a descriptive-documental study that evaluates a survey database about Brazilian JiuJitsu (BJJ) practitioners and concussions. We investigate any relationship between lifetime practice and the incidence of concussions in adults. For this, an online survey composed of 17 questions was sent to 42 BJJ coaches. The Survey Monkey pla...
Purpose:
The study aimed to identify the variables that differentiate judo athletes at national and regional levels. Multivariable analysis was applied to biomechanical, anthropometric, and Special Judo Fitness Test (SJFT) data.
Method:
Forty-two male judo athletes from 2 competitive groups (14 national and 28 state levels) performed the followi...
Background. A schematic analysis of tactical performance by an MMA athlete is a potential mediator of success, and can help the
understanding of how striking actions can be used to organize technical-tactical actions. A specific evaluation of MMA striking
actions has not been undertaken in previous studies.
Problem and aim. To compare the striking...
This work aims at evaluating the role of the vestibular system in the postural sway control. A sample of 19 young, healthy male adults was monitored with a three-axial accelerometer placed over the head during a stabilometric test, standing on a force platform in four 3 min conditions: eyes closed and open, and feet apart and together. The paramete...
This work aims at evaluating the role of the vestibular system in the postural sway control using the cross correlation function. A sample of 19 young, healthy male adults was monitored with a three axial accelerometer placed over the head during a stabilometric test, standing on a force platform during 3 min in four conditions: eyes closed and ope...

This work aims at evaluating the role of the vestibular system in the postural sway control using the coherence function. A sample of 19 young, healthy male adults was monitored with a three axial accelerometer placed over the head during a stabilometric test, standing on a force platform during 3 min in four conditions: eyes closed and open, and f...
This work aims at quantifying the synergism between long (TLo) and lateral (TLa) heads of triceps during a series of elbow extension (EE) by surface electromyography (SEMG). Twenty healthy male accomplished concentric and eccentric muscular contraction in EE at pulley machine, until fatigue. The short time Fourier transform of SEMG allowed observin...
