Introduction
Federico Mario La Russa, master degree in Civil Engineering-Architecture. He graduated with a thesis entitled: "H-BIM and Artificial Intelligence. From Survey to the design of a DSS for villa Zingali - Tetto and the collections of the Museum of Representation." Since November 2019 he is a PhD student in Evaluation and Mitigation of Urban and Land Risk at DICAR (University of Catania). His PhD thesis concerns City and District Information Modeling for seismic vulnerability assessment.

The PhD thesis aims to develop a sustainable and expeditious procedure that allows even small and medium-sized urban centers to analyze the seismic safety of their urban blocks through finite element analysis. Through the City Information Modeling paradigm, the thesis aims to develop a VPL code that allows the parametric modeling of urban blocks up to LOD 4 (CityGML standards) and the production of structural FEM models. The thesis is focused on automating the acquisition and modeling of parts of the city allowing structural experts to focus on analysis and thus speeding up urban seismic safety mapping.
