In recent years, there have been tremendous advances in information technology, robotics, communication technology, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence, resulting in the merging of physical, digital, and biological worlds that have come to be known as fourth industrial revolution (4IR). In this context, the present study engages such techno...
Floatovoltaics or floating solar PV (FSPV or FPV) is rapidly emerging as a novel type of sustainable energy technology, in which solar photovoltaic installations are sited directly on open-water spaces. As an agro-renewable energy-generation technology, it makes dual use of water to generate revenue from under-utilised irrigation water surfaces whi...
Floating Solar PV (FSPV, FPV or floatovoltaics) is an emerging decentralised energy concept in climate-smart agriculture that is quickly becoming a trend in water-rich regions with high land costs, land scarcity and underutilised water areas. FPV technology has excellent environmental compatibility properties, assists in shrinking a farm's carbon f...
The invention of floatovoltaic technologies brought new meaning to the theoretical framing of sustainability as the technology delivers extended natural resource conservation benefits. However, planning assessments for novel floating PV (FPV, FSPV) and agrivoltaic sustainable energy generation technology exposed knowledge gaps jeopardising global f...

Numerical modelling-design tools are needed to mathematically model and forecast the geospatial performance of future planned/envisaged floating photovoltaic and agrivoltaic systems through Sandia and NREL's energy system and PV performance modelling platforms, such as Homer Pro, PVsyst or PVlib algorithms or the one-diode model.
However, Simulating Floating PV Conditions such as the hydroclimatic conditions within the PV system ambience and aquatic habitat differ from the typical meteorological weather station data downloaded from various weather data repositories for specific locations. These microclimatic conditions associated with the FPV system need to be re-modelled more accurately on software simulation platforms, such as PVsyst, PVlib, PVcase, HomerPro or Helioscope. The aim is to recondition the PVlib / PVsystem input parameters to determine the FPV's operating conditions, PV panel temperature, and PV panel performance in floating PV systems relative to conventional ground-mounded PV or land-mounted PV systems.
Looking for (PV Performance Modeling) studies describing options for pre-processing weather station data, to model the agrivoltaic or floating PV micro-climate or hydroclimatic conditions associated with floating PV or FPV system habitat on the PVlib or PVsyst simulation software toolbox platforms?
