Pre-harvest nutritional condition is one of the major fruit quality influencers in apple whether directly after harvest or throughout cold storage. Here, the influences of various levels of ammonium to nitrate on vitamin C content, total phenolic compounds, and total antioxidant capacity of three apple cultivars ('Granny Smith', 'Gala', and 'Golab...

Apple is one of the most popular fruit worldwide with a continuous demand for higher quality apples, especially storable varieties. Nitrogen is one of the most important elements in apple growth and production. Additionally, different nitrogen forms can have different effects on plant growth and fruit qualities. In this research, we investigated th...

Postharvest losses is one of the major obstacles on the way of sustainable agriculture, therefore many procedures should be carried out in order to decrease these losses before, after and during storage period of agricultural commodities. But the real concern is to find the effective yet safe approaches. Since the discovery of chitosan as a compoun...

Potassium is one of the most important nutrients for plants and is considered to be the second nutrient after nitrogen. This element plays an important role in growth, reducing the negative effects of stress, increasing yield and improving product quality, including the length of its storage, its marketability and its economic value. Many of the pl...

Article type: Peach fruit (Prunus persica L.) was harvested at the stage of commercial harvest and was then treated with 0, 1, 2, 3 mM citric acid (CiA). A factorial model was planned on a completely randomized block design with three replications. Two factors were used in the experimental design, i.e. 4 storage durations × 4 concentrations of CiA....

Peppers (Capsicum annum L.) are considered as an important component in the agricultural section for many countries. But with all the technologies we have and the new cultivars its total yield stills low. Nowadays there is a great demand for using new and organic technics in order to get greater yield and maintain an organic and safe production. Th...

Since the discovery of ethylene role in ripening and senescence of horticultural crops, scientists tried hardly to find out the right materials in order to stop its production after crops harvest or at least decrease this production. Another way of approach was to decrease its effect on postharvest and shelf life of crops by inhibiting its effect p...

Most of fruits and vegetables is not consumed after harvest and should be stored for a short or a long period of time and in the absence of adequate packaging, they are quickly withered and brown and lose their quality and marketability. Choosing the right packaging is very effective to increase the shelf life of agricultural products. Experts have...

Tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum) is considered as one of the most important horticultural crops and is grown widely in the world. But this important crop suffers from the low yield compared with the vast cultivation areas. Nowadays there is a great demand for using new and organic technics in order to get greater yield and maintain an organic and s...

Land leveling is one of the most important steps in soil preparation for consequent objectives. Parallel policies need to take both energy and environmental subjects into the account as well as certain financial development and eco-friendly protection. Energy is one of the most important elements in agricultural sector. Nevertheless, pollution is l...
