Now a day’s power system network operates at different states due to variation in load demand. As a result, the power flow in transmission line keeps on changing which needs to be controlled precisely. With regard to this problem, FACTS devices such as UPFC have been widely utilised to control power flow in transmission line at various operating st...

In this paper, impedance based method and matching approaches were used separately to detect three phase to ground fault (LLLGF). In order to observe the accuracy of each method, Non-homogeneous distribution network was used as a tested network. Actual data from TNB (Tenaga National Berhad) Malaysia was adopted to model the network by using PSCAD/E...

This paper presents a half-bridge and full-bridge DC-DC series resonant converters. The main feature of the converter is to investigate the achievement of the soft switching techniques and to produce high output power. Furthermore, both converters were tested by utilizing two different switching frequencies which are 40, and 45 kHz, where the reson...

In this paper, Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) is proposed to overcome the problems of the existing UPFC controllers and to provide the dynamic power flow control through transmission lines. Although many researches have been focusing on developing UPFC control strategies for power flow control through simulation, there is a lack of experimental valid...

In modern power systems, long transmission lines coupled with fast-growing load demand factor have resulted in a more stressed system than ever before. This paper is aimed at static voltage stability analysis(VSA) of IEEE-14 bus standard test case for weakest region exploration using conventional P-V and Q-V curve methods for investigating voltage...

High photovoltaic (PV) integration in electrical grid is one of the strategic goals for many countries nowadays. That's why many governments introduced incentive policies seeking for PV projects funded by private sector. These kinds of projects have to be a positive net present value (NPV) in order to get sponsorship by non-government sector. This...

This paper were carried to investigate the effect of self-impedance and mutual impedance in the estimation of the voltage sag in each node. The voltage sag estimation were carried on the TNB 132/11kV distribution network with a single-line-to-ground fault occur in the network. The result shows that when a high fault impedance occur, the impact of m...

A new approach of unified power flow controller (UPFC) optimal placement in the power system network based on dynamic analysis of voltage stability is presented in this paper. Voltage stability indices (VSIs), called line stability index LQP, voltage collapse point indicators (VCPIs), and line stability factor Lmn have been employed to explore the...

This paper presents an active and reactive (D-Q) current control method to generate the required reference current for three phase four wire shunt hybrid active filter (SHAPF) to solve power system network problems. Here, the passive elements of SHAPF have been used for compensation of reactive power and lower order harmonics and the active part mi...

This paper presents a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) based unified power flow controller (UPFC) for dynamic power flow control. FLC has been employed to provide dynamic control of series and shunt converters of UPFC. The proposed controller has been designed using PSCAD software and validated on IEEE 14 bus system network. The results show that the p...

Transformerless PV inverters are most preferred for grid connected photovoltaic (PV) generation system due to higher efficiency and lower cost. However, to meet the safety regulations, the leakage current, which deteriorates the power quality and generates EMI of transformerless PV inverter, have to be addressed carefully. In order to eliminate the...

The design of multivariable ripple-free deadbeat controllers is a complex task. One approach which has shown promise for solving multivariable ripple-free deadbeat control (MRFDC) problems is the use of Diophantine equation parameters. The problem of solving robust multivariable ripple free deadbeat with time delays has not been solved. This paper...
