Questo articolo sviluppa il tema del pensiero controfattuale come elemento patogeno, già affrontato in "Il tarlo nella mente" (Connessioni, N.10/2021). Vengono qui considerati gli aspetti culturali che permenano i contesti giudiziari e giornalistici e il loro impatto sui sopravvissuti di incidenti drammatici.
Il lavoro discute l'importanza di difendere i diritti essenziali nei contesti critici, anche quando sembra che le priorità immediate giustifichino il loro accantonamento.
L'articolo mostra come il pensiero controfattuale possa sostenere percorsi patogeni in situazioni di lutti traumatici.
