The photocatalytic oxidation of 5-hydroxymethyl-2-furfural (HMF) under natural solar irradiation was carried out in liquid–solid regime by using a batch reactor. Home prepared meso-tetra aryl substituted porphyrins (Pps) whether metal-free (H2Pp) or containing Cu(II) or Zn(II) complexes (CuPp, ZnPp), opportunely functionalized with lipophilic [(3-n...

Molecular Imprinting Polymer (MIP) technology is a technique to design artificial receptors with a predetermined selectivity and specificity for a given analyte, which can be used as ideal materials in various application fields. In the last decades, MIP technology has gained much attention from the scientific world as summarized in several reviews...

In electrochemical energy storage systems, Li-ion batteries have drawn considerable interest. However, the corrosion of the aluminum current collector in the LiN(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 electrolyte has a major effect on battery efficiency. To protect the current collector from the corrosive action of the LiN(SO 2 CF 3 ) 2 electrolyte, new nanocomposites base...

Conversion of CO2 to reduced products is a promising route to alleviate irreversible climate change. Here we report the synthesis of a Co-based phthalocyanine with pyridine moieties (CoPc-Pyr), which is supported on a carbon electrode and shows Faradaic efficiency ∼90% for CO at 490 mV of overpotential (-0.6 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE)...
Article
A green synthesis of benzoxazines, based upon reaction of cardanol with formaldehyde and primary amines, is achieved in high yields using choline chloride‐urea mixture as deep eutectic solvent. Then, it is demonstrated how the cardanol‐based benxoxazines can be employed as only component for the preparation of a nanovesicular systems.

In this work we report the synthesis of new hybrid nanomaterials in the core/shell/shell morphology, consisting of a magnetite core (Fe3O4) and two consecutive layers of oleic acid (OA) and phthalocyanine molecules, the latter derived from cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL). The synthesis of Fe3O4 nanoparticle was performed via co-precipitation procedu...

Sustainable polymers from renewable resources are classified as biobased polymers. Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) is one of the most common biobased polymers applied in the biodegradable plastic industry as a feasible substitute of petrochemical-derived products. Cardanol oil (CA), a renewable resource and relatively low-cost side product of the cashew ag...

The possibility of exploring basic biological phenomena requires the development of new and efficient bio-imaging tools. These should ideally combine the feasibility of production (potentially through the use of green chemistry) together with high targeting efficiency, low cytotoxicity, and optimal contrast characteristics. In this work, we develop...
Article
In this study, H2Pc/Epoxy nanocomposite coating was fabricated for anti-corrosion applications. The electrochemical, cross-cut adhesion, impact resistance, bend test, contact angle, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) analysis were employed to evaluate the performance of new nanocomposites. Corrosion monitoring w...

Organic coatings have been widely used to protect carbon steel pipelines from external corrosion; however, they often suffer from permeability and weak adhesion. Here we show that synthetic lanthanide bis-phthalocyanine complexes, LnPc2 (Ln = lanthanide metal, Pc = C32H16N8 denotes the phthalocyanine ligand) can be used to form new nanocomposite co...
