The structure and connectivity of European seabass (Dicentrarchus labrax) populations remain poorly known and ecological evidence is missing to support the current delineation between the northern (southern North Sea, English Channel and Celtic Sea) and southern French stocks (Bay of Biscay). Adult spawning site fidelity and natal homing were analy...
This document describes the current state of the science knowledge for salt marshes ecological functions for ichthyofauna and suggests a sampling protocol to assess these functions along the French coastline and to explore the main management issues identified by the study partners (RNN, MNHN, OFB, ONCFS, etc).
Coastal ecosystems, which provide numerous essential ecological functions for fish, are threatened by the proliferation of green macroalgae that significantly modify habitat conditions in intertidal areas. Understanding the influence of green tides on the nursery function of these ecosystems is essential to determine their potential effects on fish...
Coastal and estuarine systems are highly productive areas that provide unique biological and ecological services and shelter essential habitats to numerous fisheries resources. Among the perturbations experienced by these ecosystems, proliferations of opportunistic macroalgae, commonly known as ‘green tides’, are one of the most obvious signs of eu...
