Introduction
Fascinated with frogs and anything pertinent to its ecology. Loves using anurans as examples in Biology subjects she handles. She is also intrigued with dynamics of zoonoses with special emphasis on role of wild animals on disease transmission.

Delima-Baron EM, Ruales CAS, Tripole C. Tagoon MDT, Susulan TB. 2022. Anurans of select green spaces of Davao City, Mindanao Island, Philippines. Biodiversitas 23: 4810-4815. Data on anurans in green spaces, especially in highly urbanized cities, including Davao, is still very limited. We present for the first time a checklist of anuran species fro...
The habitats provided by urban green spaces are vital for conserving different wildlife species, especially birds. Although several studies outside the Philippines highlight the value of urban green spaces, including urban hills, as essential bird sanctuaries, limited accessible information exists in the Philippines. To date, no published informati...

The value of urban green spaces as important habitats for the maintenance of diverse wildlife species is not well explored in the Philippines. Data on bird diversity in urban areas like Davao City is very scant. Thus, the study documented bird species diversity in 15 urban green spaces of Davao City. These areas were previously not surveyed based o...
Data on anurans in Davao City watersheds remains depauperate. This study provides the first account of anurans of the Panigan-Tamugan watershed using visual encounter survey (VES) and microhabitat searches along fifteen 10 × 10 m belt transects. A total of 14 species belonging to 11 genera and five families were recorded for all three sampling site...
Despite herpetological surveys conducted in Mindanao, scanty data are known about the Philautus species in montane forests as well as its account in southern Mindanao. Species accounts of Philautus sampled from the montane forest of Marilog District in Southern Mindanao with notes on it microhabitats were provided. Belt-transect sampling and microh...
This study focused on identification of ectoparasites associated with goats from Davao City, Southern Mindanao, Philippines and molecularly detected the bacterial species associated with these ectoparasites. Ectoparasites were collected from three goats in three different sites within Davao City, of varying breed and gender in three different locat...
Lead has multiple detrimental effects in developing children and pregnant women. It can cause behavioral problems and decrease in IQ among children while complications may occur among pregnant women. This research is focused on two plants, Epipremnum aureum (money plant) and Bougainvillea spectabilis (bougainvillea), and their ability to sequester...
We report the laboratory detection of Trichuris trichiura in a fecal sample from the Philippine macaque (Macaca fascicularis) from a beach forest in Davao del Norte, Philippines. The simple test tube flotation method, using a mixture of 100mL of water, 50g of sucrose, and 40g of NaCl as flotation fluid, was performed to detectnematode, cestode eggs...
We characterized through morphological features and some biochemical tests bacterial isolates from the skin of three endemic frog species: Kalophyrnus sinensis (Peters, 1867), Limnonectes magnus (Stejneger, 1910), and Megophrys stejnegeri (Taylor, 1920) from Mt. Andapon Barangay Campawan, in Baganga, Davao Oriental, Philippines. The bacterial isola...
Documentation of species composition, richness and microhabitat preferences of anurans of two mountain ranges: Mt. Sinaka (Arakan Cotabato) and Mt. Hamiguitan (Davao, Oriental) was done using belt transect sampling. Twenty-three species were recorded representing five anuran families. Nineteen species were recorded for Mt. Sinaka while 14 species w...

We inspected the band patterns of shells of land snails from Hikong Bente Falls of Lake Sebu in South Cotabato based on shell color and intensity of bands. The occurrence of the pattern was compared with habitat type: open, semi-open, and closed. Shells of land snails were handpicked in 200-m transects established in each habitat type. Shell colora...

The diet of six anuran species (Kaloula conjuncta, Philautus acutirostris, Polypedates leucomystax, Occidozyga laevis, Fejervarya cancrivora and Rana granducola) was determined using the gut content analysis. Nineteen food items were identified with Hymenoptera: Formicidae as the most frequently occurring food item appearing in the guts of 5 out of...
Species composition and microhabitats of frogs in the Arakan Valley Conservation Area in Cotabato, Mindanao, with three interconnected mountain ranges, were documented using belt transect sampling. Frogs were sampled at 4 sites – one on Mt. Mahuson, two on Mt. Sinaka and one within the Kabalantian-Binoongan mountain range. Twenty-five frog species...
