Introduction
Since the mid-1970s, Ellen founded and directed several auditory-verbal centers and programs. She was a Founding Director of Auditory-Verbal International and served on A.G. Bell Association's Board of Directors. In addition to serving as international consultant, mentor, and speaker, as well as review editor for professional journals and authoring peer-reviewed papers and chapters, she co-authored/co-edited (1) Aural (Re)Habilitation for Adolescents with Hearing Loss, (2) Auditory-Verbal Practice: Family-Centered Early Intervention, and (3) Auditory-Verbal Therapy. Her awards include Professional of the Year (AVI), Program of the Year (AG Bell), and Nitchie Award in Human Communication (League for the Hard of Hearing).
