To explore potential markers of preclinical vascular cognitive impairment (VCI). The research examines differing ERP and connectivity presentations between middle-age individuals at risk of vascular cognitive impairment compared to healthy age-matched controls using EEG.
Exploring cognitive symptoms that could track vascular-related cognitive impairment associated with early structural and metabolic vascular change before a frank dementia develops.
Path integration spatial navigation processes are currently emerging as promising cognitive biomarkers for clinical and prodromal Alzheimer’s disease (AD). However, such path integration changes have yet to be characterised in Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI). It is currently therefore not clear whether VCI has specific or similar path integration processes as AD. In the current study we explore path integration performance in AD and VCI groups.
