Introduction
My research focuses on how herding and farming spread through sub-Saharan Africa beginning around 5000 years ago, and how ancient peoples navigated issues of climate change, shifting economic/land use strategies, and contact with foreign groups. I work at a series of sites in Kenya and Tanzania and specialize in bioarchaeology, dental morphology, biodistance, mortuary archaeology, and ancient DNA. My current project focuses on studying health among ancient mobile pastoralists.
