Hello,
I am looking for a generic open access metaheuristic like Genetic Algorithm, Simulated Annealing, PSO, etc., implemented as a library/code in any of these platforms/languages: R, C/C++, AMPL, GAMS, Java. I am not interested in the efficiency of the algorithm, but I want to use it for teaching and to solve small instances.
I found some packages in R for PSO and Genetic Algorithms, but these can not handle integer/binary variables correctly.
I appreciate in advance your suggestions.
We have a Mixed-Integer Non-Linear Problem with square root components on the decision variables. I have seen a proposal to reformulate as a Conic Quadratic problem, but I am not sure if this reformulation guarantees optimality with respect to the original problem.
