Introduction
As a Ph.D. student of Information and Communication Systems at the Open University of Cyprus and also a member of the Computational Cognition Lab, I wish to investigate the use of computer modeling for understanding the principles of human cognition and perception.
My research interests include the investigation of human reasoning and argumentation, problem solving, decision making, creativity, language acquisition and narrative comprehension, from the perspective of Artificial Intelligence.

NThe ability to identify similarities between narratives has been argued to be central in human interactions. Previous work that sought to formalize this task has hypothesized that narrative similarity can be equated to the existence of a common summary between the narratives involved. We offer tangible psychological evidence in support of this hyp...
The way we choose to draw the networks on the plane (layout) is found to be important for the readability of networks by humans. In this study, we examine how different layouts affect our perception of specific properties of small networks of 16 nodes each. We compare a simple grid layout to the planar and force-directed layouts, which are some of...
The cognitive framework of conceptual spaces bridges the gap between symbolic and subsymbolic AI by proposing an intermediate conceptual layer where knowledge is represented geometrically. There are two main approaches for obtaining the dimensions of this conceptual similarity space: using similarity ratings from psychological experiments and using...
In typical categorization tasks, humans are presented with a sequence of instances and report whether each instance is a member of a given category or not. In the current study, we examine the relationship between the reaction times (RTs) of human participants and the position of the instance in the conceptual space. Our main hypothesis is that ins...
One of the main efforts of recent computational linguistics is to formalize the process of identifying and evaluating similarity between narratives, which is argued to be a key concept for all human behavior. Analyses of the data of 52 adults that participated in our empirical study offered evidence that supports the position that narrative similar...
