Most people use stairs during emergencies and evacuations. Therefore, this study addressed the impact of staircase rotation to minimize physical effort and evacuation time, hypothesizing that staircase rotation affects the evacuation speed and the safety of the occupants. This study consisted of two stages. In the first stage, a questionnaire was d...

In recent decades, pursuing sustainable development has become vital in all fields, including the building sector. There are expectations that by 2041 more than 66% of the world's population will live in urban areas or cities. Urbanization is a boon and a significant challenge to global sustainability, as it contributes to environmental destruction...

Staircases are a frequent cause of accidents, which has led to a great deal of research into their design. All architects and interior designers should know the relevant Building Regulations they work under and try to be updated with the latest scientific research. In the design of staircases, there are two essential considerations: comfort and saf...

Question
The discussion here will be essential and vital for thermal insulation in different climates.
It is agreed that thermal insulation protects from the heat of summer and the cold of winter, but the question is: should it be from the outside or the inside?
To my knowledge, in a stable climate where temperatures do not differ between morning and evening, exterior thermal insulation would be better. However, some opinions say that the insulation inside or outside will give us the same results.
The question here is about thermal insulation in a climate where the temperature changes extremely between morning, afternoon, and evening, such as the desert climate, which is very hot in the morning and freezing at night.
Is it preferable to have thermal insulation from the inside or the outside?
Question
After working on the published research on promoting sustainability in developing contexts from an architectural point of view,
I already asked that question: How can we boost sustainability in Developing Countries?
But now I have more in my mind that I want to discuss whether sustainability can really be achieved as we dream of it or it is an unattainable goal used solely for national and international consumption and politics?
Question
I want to propose a theoretical perspective (point of view) in architecture history and submit it for discussion. It would be a short article, maybe between 1000 and 2000 words. How can I publish it? And does it called (A review? Or just an article)? Thus, would it be suitable for a conference more than a journal?
Question
Today, I uploaded a chapter in my book called Hints and Steps Toward Safe Staircases.
You will find it in the link below
As it seems from its address, it discusses the concept of designing safe staircases architecturally. I want to open a discussion on this essential topic. This chapter relied on the fact that there is an accident on the stairs approximately every 2.5 minutes in the UK. We can't prevent accidents, but we can reduce serious injuries as much as possible.
