Introduction
My research focuses on studying beneficial microorganisms associated with various native plants using advanced Omics strategies (Genomics, Transcriptomics, Proteomics, Metabolomics) and state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence tools. I am actively involved in developing novel control strategies for parasites with significant human health impact and applying protein crystallography for innovative drug discovery.

Various human activities today have an impact on aquatic ecosystems. Wastewater discharged from various sources, including industrial, domestic, agricultural, and mining, contains high concentrations of organic and inorganic pollutants. The wastewater is subjected to various physical, chemical, and biological treatments to mitigate or reduce its im...

In recent decades, population growth has been increasing at an accelerated rate, which has led to a shortage of various resources. One of the most scarce resources is food, which will probably be a significant problem by 2050. To overcome and cope with this problem, it is necessary to search for new sustainable food alternatives with low adverse ef...

The association or interaction of species is a phenomenon that occurs in all species on the planet, from bacteria interacting with higher organisms to humans interacting with microbes. There is also interaction with various microorganisms in the plant kingdom. This diversity of plant-microorganism interactions has been widely reported and researche...
Chapter
The abundance and diversity of microorganisms is an indicator of the health, quality, and functionality of the planet's ecological systems. Several traditional and advanced or modern techniques have been used to understand the composition and functionality of microbial communities in the environment. Microscopic identification and quantification of...
Chapter
The climatic diversity of our planet allows the development of a broad range of living organisms. Cold environments are colonized by organisms, which are able to tolerate low temperatures. Within this group of organisms are microorganisms that have thrived because of their adaptation to these environments. This adaptive capacity of microbes is basi...

Water is the natural element that is found in greater quantity on the planet, which is responsible for the prosperity of the different forms of life on earth. One of the main problems that humanity is going through, with respect to this element, is that every day it becomes a limited resource, largely due to the contamination of the different natur...

As the industry advances and the world population increases, the planet has accumulated the waste generated by human activity. Many of them are nondegradable and others of slow degradation that favor their accumulation in nature without adequate treatment. Although oil spills are the most notorious episodes, there is a range of pollutants derived f...
