Introduction
Edmund Nelson Amasah is a lecturer at the Commercial Law Department of the Faculty of Law, KNUST with more than 12 years teaching experience in both the Public Universities and the Private Universities. He teaches Commercial Law and Insurance Law. He has also previously taught Ghana Legal System, Contract Law, Tort Law and Company Law in other faculties of the University, KNUST.
He is a Consumer Protection Advocate and Executive Director of the Chamber of Banking and Insurance Consumers, Ghana (COBIC, GH). A non-profit organization that seeks to advocate, represent and enlightens consumers in the Banking and Insurance Industries.
His research interest lies in Insurance Law, Commercial Law and Consumer Protection and he has published in these areas and attended conferences and workshops, among other things. He is presently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Law KNUST where he is researching into “Insurance Claims Denial Based on Bad Faith: Using Enhanced Consumer Measures as an Instrument for Protection in the Ghanaian Insurance Industry.”
He is a DFID/Commonwealth Trust Scholar.
