The Project Climate Change Adaptation and Disaster Risk Reduction in Agriculture is a training programme with the aim to reduce the impacts of Natural Disaster and Climate Change on the agricultural sector in West Africa. Its specific objective is to improve the capacity of national technical services to support sustainable development in response to climate change and its associated risks.

Implementation of a system to provide semi-automatic, detailed, timely, and comprehensive operational services for monitoring and forecasting drought occurrence over the Mediterranean Basin and central Europe. The Drought Observatory ( https://drought.climateservices.it/en/ ) is conceived to support decision-makers, water authorities, researchers, and general stakeholders. Meteorological stations network, satellite images, and models are integrated through an open-source interoperable SDI (Spatial Data Infrastructure) based on PostgreSQL/PostGIS to produce precipitation, temperature, evapotranspiration, and vegetation indices to follow the occurrence and evolution of a drought event. The SDI allows the dissemination of comprehensive, up-to-date information, customizable for different end-users and delivered through different operational services.
