The utilisation of enzymes in the industry has brought numerous benefits and advantages to production processes. Enzymes serve as biocatalysts, efficiently catalyzing reactions and hydrolysis in biochemical processes. However, there are challenges in applying enzymes in the industry, particularly concerning enzyme stability. The obstacle encountere...

Rhizobia are bacteria that symbiosis with host plant, as shown in the root nodules formation, and provide nitrogen that can be absorbed by plants in greater quantities than rhizobacteria. Available Nitrogen, which absorbed by plants, is the essential requirement for plant growth because its role in increasing yield and quality, hence it is needed i...

Soft corals can produce bioactive compounds that act as antibacterials. Sinularia sp. is a soft coral that can produce antibacterial compounds. Symbion bacteria are bacteria that can produce bioactive compounds that tend to be the same as their host. The use of symbiont bacteria can be an alternative to exploit the potential of Sinularia sp. withou...

Vibriosis and septicemia are infections caused by bacteria that rise many problems on aquaculture industry. Bioprospection of marine organisms such as sea cucumber are very promising as they are widely known to contain symbiotic microorganisms having antibacterial potential. This study aimed to analyze the antibacterial potential of sea cucumber St...

Marine sponges have been investigated as potential bioresources because of their symbiotic relationship with microbes such as Actinobacteria that produce antibacterial substances. In contrast, a group of sponges, that inhabits freshwater environments called freshwater sponges (Order Spongillida Manconi & Pronzato, 2002) and consists of only one per...

β‐Glucosidase (BGL) is an essential enzyme for the hydrolysis of cellulose in industrial processes, but natural BGL enzymes are poorly understood. Metagenomics is a robust tool for bioprospecting in the search for novel enzymes from the entire community’s genomic DNA present in nature. The metagenomics approach simplifies the process of searching f...

Freshwater sponges are animals from the Porifera phylum that live in freshwater. The sponge used is Oncosclera asiatica was taken from Kali Porong, East Java. Seventeen isolates of bacteria have been obtained from isolation. Antibacterial potential testing was performed by paper disc inhibition assay using Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus...

Gudeg, a traditional culinary dish from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, is prepared by cooking young jackfruit with coconut milk and spices. It is commonly served with rice, eggs, chicken, and sambal goreng krecek, which is a spicy blended chili cooked with savory edible soft cowhide. Gudeg is interesting to discuss as it holds a rich history and is a...

Supplementary data of Symbiosis Contribution of Non-nodulating Bradyrhizobium cosmicum S23321 after Transferal of the Symbiotic Plasmid pDOA9
Article
Full-text available
The symbiotic properties of rhizobial bacteria are driven by the horizontal gene transfer of symbiotic genes, which are located in symbiosis islands or on plasmids. The symbiotic megaplasmid pDOA9 of Bradyrhizobium sp. DOA9, carrying the nod, nif, fix, and type three secretion system (T3SS) genes, has been conjugatively transferred to different Bra...
Article
Bradyrhizobium sp. DOA9 has a broad host range and a highly divergent nodulation (nod) gene on the megaplasmid (pDOA9). Duplicated copies of the general regulator nodD (nodD1 and nodD2) and nodA (nodA1 and nodA2) genes were found on pDOA9. The nodA gene is encoding an acyltransferase that controls the transfer of an acyl chain to the chitooligosacc...

One of the most common methods for purifying RNA is using TRIzol reagent because of its simplicity and economic feasibility. However, the drawback of this method is frequently the low quality of extracted RNA due to contaminants from the residue of phenol and guanidinium thiocyanate from the reagents. This study aimed to evaluate the improvement in...

ABSTRACT Aims: Pigments used as food additives for a long time and people prefer natural pigment than synthetic ones because of their safety. Microorganisms are interesting for pigment production and many of them have been used in food industry. Many research have been conducted to find out for natural pigment sources. The objective of this researc...

Bacillus altitudinis P-10 was isolated from the rhizosphere of rice grown in an organic rice field and provides strong antagonism against the bacterial blight caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae in rice. Herein, we provide the complete genome sequence and a possible explanation of the antibiotic function of the P-10 strain.

Microorganisms become an important source of natural pigments, especially isolates from extreme environments. Pink-pigmented thermophile bacteria has been isolated from GedongSongo hot spring in Bandungan– Semarang. Morphological, biochemical and molecular analysis were used to identify the isolate. The isolate had coccus shape, GRAM positive, mode...

Rhizobacteria are rhizosphere competent bacteria that colonize and proliferate in all the ecological niches found on the plant roots at all stages of plant growth, in the presence of a competing microflora. These bacteria are potential as biological control agent to inhibit the growth of phytopathogen. The aim of this study was to isolate endospore...
