Step-type Pt/γ-Al2O3catalyst pellets were prepared by coimpregnation and sequential impregnation of hexachloroplatinic and citric acids. A diffusion–adsorption model based on Fickian diffusion and Langmuir adsorption was formulated. The parameters of the model were determined from separate experiments. Adsorption constants were obtained in the abse...

Previously, the effective diffusivity of a liquid or gas through a solid which adsorbs the component in question has been measured typically under conditions in which the component is diffusing through and adsorbing on the solid. With this technique, any errors in the adsorption kinetics and equilibrium are reflected in the value of the effective d...

Question
I am looking for an analytical instrument to quantify the extraction of isopropanol from water into hexane and vice versa. This will be part of an undergraduate laboratory experiment using a continuous liquid/liquid extractor. The goal is to find a simple tool to measure the mass fraction of isopropanol in hexane-rich and water-rich solutions. The ideal instrument would be able to directly measure the alcohol mass fraction in a cuvette or small sample vial. Is Raman a suitable tool for this experiment?
