As my discussion with fellow researcher on the usage of qualitative research to enrich and add variety of undergraduate thesis. There are discussion of descriptive,explanatory and exploratory methods. Some said it have degree order as descriptive is lower than explanatory, some say as qualitative research its use a mixed and combine the method as the purpose of the research.
The first side is quantitative that needs clarification for qualitative that base on its nature is finds out phenomenon.
I need your expert opinion on this.
As quantitative research we can measure data using regression or non regression. Our department are still finding a way to measure data that using qualitative research as far as i know that is to explain and test phenomenon can use coding and transcription to measure the model.
I need your opinion and expertise on this can we measure data in qualitative research or just test its construct without testing data?
Our business management program is researching in cross culture decision making related with exporting and importing product around Asia,west europe,eastern europe,arab,africa and australia.

As a new program in our School of business management, our international business management program is trying to formulated type of research that can be conducted by our last year student for their final thesis.
Some of us argued to directed it to quantitative research with bi-variate and multivariate analysis rather than using qualitative research that using swot, balance score card, IFAS/EFAS. With a reason it is for bachelor degree and easy to be done with only 4 month periods and common usage in our area and qualitative is only for supporting primary quantitative method.
As other said we suppose to have also qualitative for higher achiever students so we can make higher standard of our graduate and to unlimited our student research to only quantitative.
Base on your expert opinion, which one we suppose to choose, using only quantitative, qualitative or both of the for final defense bachelor thesis?
