Introduction
My research line is, in a broad sense, focused on obtain useful tools that make wildlife conservation and rural development compatible. I try to approach this objective from a multidisciplinary point of view, combining the sanitary approach with that of agricultural, forestry and hunting management. This objective requires long-term work, so the monitoring of populations also occupies an important place in my research.

Goal: Recent genetic studies have shown that the Iberian Green Woodpecker (Picus sharpei) is a differentiated species. To date, the existing information about the breeding paremeters, habitat use, survival, dispersal...of this species is still scarce. In our project, we will try to obtain information on these aspects in the Navarra region, located on the northern limit of the Iberian Green Woodpecker distribution area. Methods: Census, nest monitoring, digital endoscope, ringing, mist net, gis.
Project
Goal: Most of passeriforms migrate during night. However, estimating the bird abundance at night is difficult and, therefore, most of migration monitoring scheme are focused on diurnal migration. The Iberian Peninsula is one of the main wintering area for the west Europe bird populations. Inside the Iberian Peninsula, the Ebro Valley plays an important role, specially in migration patterns. In our project we study the migration of four passerine species: Blackcap (Sylvia atricapilla), European Robin (Erithacus rubecula), Song thrush (Turdus philomelos) and Skylarck (Alauda arvensis). Methods: Ringing, mist net.
