Til nå har 12 pasienter med lang sykehistorie og dårlig prognose fått normalisert sine liv gjennom Basal Eksponeringsterapi. For visse pasienter i akuttpsykiatrisk behandling vil BET-programmet kunne være et supplement som kan fremme funksjonsheving og korte ned liggetid.

Basal Eksponeringsterapi (BET) er en døgnbasert psykoterapeutisk tilnærming til en diagnostisk mangefasettert undergruppe av behandlingsresistente pasienter. Diagnosene som pasientene ofte har fått ligger innen schizofreni spektrum lidelser, dissosiativ lidelse, bipolar lidelse, eller kompleks posttraumatisk stresslidelse (PTSD), ofte med en komorbiditet av en eller flere samtidige personlighetsforstyrrelser. Målet med denne studien er å undersøke om bruken av psykofarmaka kan reduseres samtidig som pasientenes psykososiale funksjonsnivå er bedret etter endt behandling med BET, om lavere bruk av psykofarmaka vedvarer etter utskriving, og om det er forskjeller mellom gruppen som fortsetter med lik dose og gruppen som trapper ned eller seponerer psykofarmaka.
