The hemangiosarcoma is a malignant tumor that develops from the cells that line the blood vessels. A thirteen-year-old female Labrador dog was presented to the Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College, Shivamogga, with a history of inappatance. On clinical examination, a mass was palpable in the abdominal region. Ultrasonographic abdomen exa...
Background: Tissue-engineered scaffolds for skin wound healing have undergone marvelous progress. The recognition that a three-dimensional scaffold more closely mimics the biomechanical environment of wounds and advancing knowledge of cell biology has led to the next-generation of engineered bioscaffolds with nanotechnology. A unifying approach is...
The present study was conducted on 18 dogs of either
, sex, breed, aged between 4-14 months brought to Veterinary Clinical Complex and Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar
, Hyderabad having a femoral diaphyseal fracture in dogs. The dogs were randomly divided into three equal groups irrespect...

The current study was undertaken to evaluate the clinical efficacy of Titanium Dynamic Compression
plate for repair of femur fractures in dogs. This study was conducted on six dogs presented with fractures
to the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology at the College of Veterinary Science, Hyderabad.
The six cases of fractures were diagnosed...
The Foldscope is one of the latest inventions in the field of microscopy. It is a small, handheld, paper-based microscope with a light-emitting diode (LED) light source. It can be held up to the eye for visualization of slides; however we have to secure it to the camera lens of a smart phone by using the magnetic ring supplied along with the kit. A...
In dairy animals, lameness due to hoof and leg ailments is one of the major managemental problems which often results due to improper shoeing. It causes economic losses to the farmer and is also an important animal welfare issue. The main objective of the study was to design and develop affordable and durable Cowslips (rubberized shoes) for dairy a...
Despite significant advances in the fabrication of engineered biomaterials for regenerative medicine, delivery of nutrients in complex engineered human tissues remains a challenge. By taking advantage of the similarities in the vascular structure of plant and animal tissues, an attempt was made to develop prevascularized scaffolds from plant leaf f...
A primiparous three year old Malnad Gidda was presented to Department of Teaching Veterinary Clinical
Complex, Veterinary College, Shivamogga, with prolonged first stage of labour. It was diagnosed as
dystocia due to congenital anomaly and relieved dystocia by zig-zag method. Fully developed stillborn
female fetus with Crown Rump Length (CRL) of...
The present study was conducted on the gross anatomical features of the vertebral column of Indian giant
flying squirrel (Petaurista philippensis). It belongs to the order rodentia and Sciuridae family. The bones of vertebral column were collected during the post-mortem examination at Veterinary College,
Shivamogga, Karnataka. The vertebral formu...
A primiparous three year old Malnad Gidda was presented to Department of Teaching Veterinary Clinical Complex, Veterinary College, Shivamogga, with prolonged first stage labour. It was diagnosed as a dystocia due to congenital anomaly and relieved dystocia by rotation method. The fetus was fully grown dead female calf. It was weighing about 6.68 kg...

Histochemical study of buffalo EOMs was carried out on lipids, glycogen, myoglobin content and enzymes like succinic dehydrogenase and phosphorylase. The results obtained were as follows: Lipid content showed strong reactions in narrow fibres, moderate in intermediate and weak reaction in broad fibres. Glycogen was moderate in broad fibres and almo...
The structure, distribution and innervation of the extraocular muscles fibres in buffalo were studied. Tissues were collected from 3 regions of the eyeball namely orbital attachment, middle portion and scleral attachment and were stained for haematoxylin and eosin, phosphotungstic acid haematoxylin (PTAH) and silver staining techniques. Muscle fibr...
Gross morphology of the Indian donkey was studied. The liver of the Indian donkey was located on the abdominal surface of the diaphragm on the right side of the Indian plain. Length, width and thickness of the liver were noted. Gall bladder was not observed in the study.
The pancreas of Indian donkey was situated below the liver extending from 14th to 16th rib on the right side of median plane. Grossly, it was grayish pink to pale brown, irregularly triangular in shape, with an average weight of 95.0 ± 0.25 g, which accounted for 0.175% of the body weight. Histologically, it was covered by a thin capsule, which ent...
The corrosion cast and dry specimen are useful to study the architecture of different cavities, ducts, arteries, veins, ventricles and joints along with their dimensions and topography in various domestic animals and birds. In earlier days, such techniques were used with the help of paraffin, polyvinyl acetate and gelatin which were brittle and les...
