This work reports the behavior of annealed commercially pure cold-drawn thin iron wires. Primary recrystallization is complete after holding for 180 s at 1123 K. After recrystallization, grain growth takes place within the central region but not close to the surface. For annealing times up to 14400 s, the grain size distribution broadens and the te...
Strain partitioning and localization were investigated in a high-Mn steel (17.1 wt.% Mn) during tensile testing by a correlative probing approach including in-situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction, micro- digital image correlation (μ-DIC) and electron microscopy. By combining Warren's theory with the μ-DIC analysis, we monitored the formation of plana...
In situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction was used to track real-time austenite reversion in AISI 201 austenitic stainless steel deformed to a true strain of 0.34 under tensile testing. The deformed material was continuously annealed from 100 °C up to 800 °C at a heating rate of 0.05 °C s −1. Phase changes and microstrain partitioning were evaluated by...
A computer program was employed to reconstruct the parent microstructure from electron backscatter diffraction maps taken from martensite. The reconstruction is based on a given user-selected orientation relationship. Two reduced-activation ferritic-martensitic Eurofer steels were austenitized for several times and cooled down at different rates. T...
We characterized the morphology, substructure and crystallography of lenticular martensite in a Fe-Ni-C alloy by means of electron backscatter diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. Electron backscatter diffraction maps were used to determine the orientation relationship between austenite and martensite across large regions of the microstruc...
The growth of recrystallization nuclei towards the deformed matrix generally does not proceed isotropically. Local disturbances in the migration along grain boundaries lead to the formation of protrusions. This important aspect in recrystallization is rarely explored in the literature, especially in the sense of understanding which microstructural...
Duplex stainless steels have very good properties including good ductility, moderate toughness and good stress corrosion cracking resistance. These properties can be severely affected by the precipitation of sigma (σ) and chi (χ) phases, in particular ductility and toughness. The effect of cold deformation on the isothermal transformation kinetics...

I'm new on medical science and I learned from my teachers that there are 4 specialized myocardium conducts on the right atrium that make the internodal conduction. I did an fast review on literature and realized that maybe this explanation was wrong and it is a old fashion way to explain the conduction.
So, I turn my question to more specialized scientists on the field, what do you think? There is these 4 conduction pathways or they are only differentiated due to the myocardium tissue which is naturally separated by the veins and anatomic structures of the right atrium?
Thanks all...
(PS. My college textbook is Latarjet & Liard and they didn't define these 4 pathways. I think Moore neither)
I started my studies on histology and I realized most of well established text-books don't use scale bars in their images, except the books of the American-German Thieme Publishing Group. I think it is a lack of technical rigorosity, even though most of books treat the issue only on a qualitative point of view. So, what do you think about that? Should the publishers in that area change their concept to increase their accuracy?
Which is the first paper published by a brazilian on material science? My evidences go back to 1951.

This project intends to compile most of ephonyms from the book Anatoma Humana, by M. Latarjet & Liard, using sintatic anaylisis with help of computational methods (PHP and Goland).
The result will be published as a dictionary in spanish language.
The goal of this project is to establish methodologies to assess the propagation of short cracks in the near-threshold stress intensity range by using new methodologies that avoid the cumbersome threatment of take pictures of surface cracks propagation just after their nucleation. It is based on fracture mechanical knowledge and will help the interpretation of the discrete mechanics behind the near-threshold propagation of short cracks.
