Introduction
I am very interested in the application of methods of Mathematical and Computational Physics in interdisciplinary projects from biophysics (neuroscience) and biometeorology to solid-state physics. Likewise, I am very interested in the application of concepts of criticality and quantum criticality in neuroscience, the use of a data-driven approach in mathematical modeling and the translation of concepts from solid state physics to the study of biological processes within the brain.

Asthma is a respiratory disorder resulting from a combined response of the immune system to environmental agents (allergens) and the expression of different genes (complex trait disorder). Asthma episodes are characterized at least by an increase in levels of Immunoglobulin E (IgE) and by the bronchial hyper-responsiveness (BHR). These two effects...

New families of superconducting materials share a common property; they all have a complex Fermi surface topology. The later is a result of the complex dynamics of carriers in these systems and the layered crystalline structure of most of them. In this paper, the electronic specific heat and resistivity have been computed in the normal and supercon...

The differential conductance in NIN and SIN junctions is computed using the BCS tunneling hamiltonian. The role of the Van Hove singularity and its departure far from the Fermi energy is studied for s, sx2+y2 and dx2−y2 symmetries. A shift in the singularity far from the Fermi energy leads to a loss of the even parity of the density of electronic s...

The situation concerning the pairing symmetry of cuprates is still controversial. While earlier tunneling measurements pointed out to a dominant dx2−y2 wave symmetry, recent experiments seem to be consistent with a mixing like dx2−y2+exp⁡(iθ)α, where α = s and sx2+y2 instead. In this communication we address the calculation of the electronic specif...

An analysis of the different approaches used within the van Hove BCS model for the high temperature superconductors has been done. All the new layer perovskite superconductors seem to show a phenomenon of symmetry mixing with repect to the order parameter. An analysis of the different alternative of mixing and how far could them be presented is carried out. An analysis of the electronic specific heat and the thermodynamic critical magnetic field as a function of the temperature is carried out in the cases of gap with isotropic-s, d and s+id symmetries. The central results of the BCS theory are the Universal Ratios (UR) which do not depend on any physical parameters whatsoever. This constitutes a well defined weak coupling limit for conventional superconductivity (CS). Furthermore, this formalism assumes that there is a bosonic mechanism acting between electrons, but no explicit hypothesis about t...

The central result of BCS theory are the Universal Ratios which do not depend on physical parameters of the superconductor under study. Several attempts have been made to introduce the van Hove Scenario within BCS theory but in none of them the Universal Ratios of conventional superconductivity appear to be a number independent of parameters. This...
