Dr. David Lazcano-Villarreal
Licenciado en Ciencias Químicas de 1980 y Licenciado en Biología de 1982, con una Maestría en Manejo de Vida Silvestre y Doctorado en Ciencias Biológicas con especialidad en Manejo de Vida Silvestre, estudios realizados en la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas de la Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL). Actualmente, Jefe del Laboratorio de Herpetología y Coordinación de Intercambio Académico de la Facultad de Ciencias Biológicas/ UANL. Desde 1979, es docente impartiendo cursos en programas de licenciatura y postgrado. Ha dirigido 37 tesis de nivel pregrado y postgrado. Funge como miembro del cuerpo académico “Biología de la Conservación” y de la Red Nacional “Especies Exóticas de México”. Con perfil Promep, actualmente no es miembro del SIN. Entre sus principales líneas de investigación figuran: Biogeografía, Comportamiento Animal, Taxonomía y Sistemática, Ecología e Inventarios Herpetológicos y Propagación de Especies en Cautiverio. La herpetología regional se ha desarrollado a través de 36 proyectos de investigación. Es autor de ±.216 artículos/notas científicos, 19 capítulos de libros y 3 libros. Los resultados de investigación se han sido difundidos en reuniones científicas nacionales e internacionales, con 67 ponencias.
