About

Introduction
I am currently investigating the tectonic-magmatic development of the Northern Andes since the Cretaceous, focusing on the role of the Caribbean Oceanic Plateau (COP) in this development, and whether the region hosts volcanic rocks of similar compositions to early continental crust. This project includes extensive fieldwork in eastern Panama and western Colombia as well as usage of ICP-OES and ICP-MS geochemistry in conjunction with Sr-Nd-Hf isotopes and Ar/Ar geochronology. This data will allow us to better characterise the recent geological history of the region, with especially pertinent information on the development of the modern volcanic arc, which includes some of the Andes most dangerous volcanoes, and magmatic ore deposits in western Colombia.
