In the previous chapters, we discussed MEC in virtualized environments (Chap. 6) and in 5G systems (Chap. 7). In order to complete this third part of the book, it’s now worth talking about MEC Federation.

We have already acknowledged multiple times in this book that a great advantage of MEC technology is to access agnostic, as the multi-access edge computing architecture (and the related ETSI MEC standard) doesn’t depend on the specific underlying network access technology.
