Presentation
Deswege...

In this theoretical article, the qualities of the artist for peacebuilding and peace education are explored. Peacebuilding and peace education are not only based on skills and knowledge, but also on art, a creative process that originates in our imagination. The question guiding this paper is: How can we, as peacebuilders and educators, imagine, in...

Project
This project brings together the initiatives that are being developed within the UNESCO Chair Global Citizenship Education framework - Culture of Diversity and Peace at the University of Klagenfurt. The Chair, headed by Prof. Dr. Hans Karl Peterlini, aims to bundle and strengthen projects in research, teaching, and civil society engagement. Central contents are transformative learning for the world society in the sense of homeland earth (Edgar Morin), social and societal solidarity within divided societies, inclusive and participatory approaches in schools, educational institutions, institutions, and social orders.
Project
Quality assurance has been a central challenge for educational work for decades. Whereas until now the focus has been on the performance of students and the associated question of how their learning can be optimized, in recent years the focus has increasingly shifted to the professionalization of educators and educational leaders and the further development of their "key competencies for lifelong learning". In order to study learning in heterogeneous groups, the phenomenologically oriented vignette was developed as a research tool at the University of Innsbruck. It describes in dense scenes the learning experiences of students at close range. This results in differentiated insights into learning, which are made usable for the professionalization of future pedagogues (elementary, primary, special and vocational education, sec. I+II) and future pedagogical leaders within the framework of the project "ProLernen". The vignette is thus used as a professionalization tool in the training of pedagogues and pedagogical managers at tertiary educational institutions (universities, teacher training colleges) as well as for school development (incl. kindergarten and other formal educational institutions) and quality management.

The ''vignette research'' and '''anecdotal research'' are methodological procedures for researching school experiences on the learning side (Michael Schratz 2012) of teaching, which a research team at the Institute for Teacher Training and School Research at the University of Innsbruck developed with the support of the Fund for the Promotion of Scientific Research. The method was also carried out in South Tyrol/Italy with a follow-up project (Siegfried Baur/Hans Karl Peterlini 2016, Agostini 2016) and has since been extended to several research locations, including Klagenfurt, Vienna and Zurich. It is now also being tested for research in social spaces and communal living environments.
