Introduction
Daniel Fuster currently works at the Department of Internal Medicine, Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol, in Badalona (Barcelona), Spain. Daniel does research in Addiction Medicine, Epidemiology and Infectious Diseases. His current research projects are 'Medical consequences of alcohol use disorder' and 'Medical consequences of cannabis use disorders.' Dr. Fuster has obtained two competitive grants from Spanish Public Institutions (PNSD 2015-027 and FI17/00174) to study inflammation, intestinal permeability and oxidative stress in patients with alcohol use disorders that are admitted for detoxification. In addition, he has been recently awarded by the Regional Catalan Goverment so as to have protected time for research [Health Department Intensification Program (SLT006/17)].
