Gastrocnemius contracture has recently gained relevance owing to its suggested relationship with foot disorders such as metatarsalgia, plantar fasciopathy, hallux valgus, and others. Consequently this has induced a renewed interest in surgical lengthening techniques, including proximal gastrocnemius release, to resolve gastrocnemius contracture in...

Due to its deep location, close to the elbow joint, the supinator muscle requires special dissection skills. This fact enhanced our interest for a more accurate knowledge of the anatomical relations of the muscle with the elbow joint and with the posterior branch of the radial nerve. There are many clinical consequences of these anatomic relations,...

Forty anatomy articles were sampled from English Wikipedia and assessed quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitatively, each article's edit history was analyzed by Wikipedia X‐tools, references and media were counted manually, and two readability indices were used to evaluate article readability. This analysis revealed that each article was updat...

The study of cerebrovascular anatomy can be difficult and may take time due to its intrinsic complexity. However, it can also be difficult for the following reasons: the excessive description of neuroanatomy making articles hard to read, the unclear clinical application of what is written, the use of simplified or intricate schematic drawings that...

The presence and disposition of supernumerary tendons in the fourth extensor compartment of the wrist have been described by several authors. The aim of this communication was to describe a finding in a study of an anatomical dissection of an adult cadaver that presents a rare disposition of extensor tendons in the fourth extensor compartment of bo...

Anatomical variations of the fingers extensor tendons are not uncommon and have been described by several authors. Participation of intertendinous band of fascia in this kind of variation can change muscle functionality. However, this element is scarcely described in the literature. In this case report, we describe the finding of an accessory tendo...

An Anatomy teacher must have competences, in addition to postgraduate and postgraduate teaching. The preparation of a medical future is not limited to the transmission of knowledge that we have since the seventeenth century, but all the increase of knowledge that we, the scientists, have been adding to knowledge. The proposals of undergraduate education have been reflecting a suitability based on the latest technology that being highly informative sometimes does not rest on what is important for basic knowledge to construct the archaeologist necessary for future medical thinking. The discussion of new teaching projects should not be placed in recent fashions in dazzling images but also in solid elements of anatomical knowledge. Postgraduate education is particularly important for the renewal of knowledge about the new, more technologically advanced techniques. Are an essential contribution to updating and clinical efficacy. The anatomy is all that we briefly point out but much more (fewer computers and more clinical observation and clinical analysis of the patients). This research project intends to sensitize the clinical medical Anatomists in their pedagogical aspects

I'm working on an anatomical study of the supinator muscle, but now I do not have cadavers or dissecting room for the photographic demonstration and descriptive measurements. For now I just go along in the theoretical part and illustrations.
