Introduction
Damien Desbruyères currently works at the Laboratory of Physical and Spatial Oceanography, within the Institut Français de Recherche pour l'Exploitation de la Mer (IFREMER). Given the major role of the Atlantic Ocean in the climate system, it is essential to characterize the temporal and spatial variations of its heat content. The 4DATLANTIC-OHC project (2021-2023) aims at developing and testing space geodetic methods to estimate the local ocean heat content (OHC) changes over the Atlantic Ocean from satellite altimetry and gravimetry.
