Introduction
Biologist specialized in molecular medicine with experience in cancer research focused on the molecular biology of breast cancer. My scientific work has addressed the molecular mechanisms that drive breast cancer progression and metastasis. I have supervised research projects in thyroid, breast, lung, and prostate cancers. I am Co-Director of the UISEK Research Group in Data Analysis, Epidemiology and Public Health & Member - UISEK Research Group in Experimental and Applied Biomedicine.

Pluripotent stem cell governs the potential for full and proper range of early development. These cell fate transitions are mostly achieved by the sequential binding of transcription factors (TFs) and the associated changes in gene expression. Enhancers are the major DNA elements that are involved in the regulation of cell-specific gene expression....

Prunus serotina subsp. capulí is a wild arboreal tetraploid species widely distributed throughout America and can be found in the Ecuadorian highlands. Capuli has a high economic potential for food, timber, and medicine; however, there is little information available concerning the history and development of this crop in Ecuador. This study evaluat...

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Over the last decades, several studies have shown that tumor-related genomic alterations predict tumor prognosis, drug response and toxicity. These observations have led to the development of a number of precision therapies based on individual genomic profiles. As part...

The number of approved biological medicines in the global pharmaceutical market has increased in recent decades. However, their high costs have also promoted the development of biosimilar medicines, following the expiry of the patent of the reference drug. Biosimilars are approved medicines of biological origin which have no statistically significa...

Radioiodine (RAI) therapy is an important adjuvant therapy for differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) patients. Several studies have demonstrated the efficacy of RAI in reducing the risk of thyroid cancer recurrence and mortality; however, the ideal timing to initiate RAI after surgery is debatable. This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluate...

The Isabela Island, located in the Galapagos Archipelago, is one of the islands with the highest number of endemic species. Such species are being threatened by introduced domestic species, including dogs Canis lupus familiaris and cats Felis silvestris catus that affect mainly iguanas and birds populations. In this pilot study, we analyzed the pop...
