Distributed energy resources (DERs) are an alternative to conventional fossil fuel-based energy resources for a pollution-free operation. But the integration of these DERs to the main grid comes with certain challenges, out of which unintentional islanding detection is of prior importance. A lot of techniques have been used for detecting islanding,...
Distributed generation (DG) has reformed the meaning of power generation from large scale to small scale, but unintentional islanding is the main issue when connecting DG and the utility grid. A lot of techniques have been used for detecting islanding, among these techniques, there are passive and active. The main problem of passive techniques is t...
Islanding condition means the case of feeding the loads from any distributed generator (DG) with a complete disconnection of the utility grid at the point of common coupling. The main technical issue in DG integration with the primary grid is the islanding condition. Hence, islanding must be detected using an appropriate anti-islanding technique wh...
The necessity for smart electrical systems having a minimum technical loss and environmental impact is providing impetus to go for Distributed Generations (DGs) which may offer several other advantages such as reduced transmission and distribution system resources, increased reliability, better power quality, etc. However, depending on the system c...
The main challenge of the interconnection between Distributed generation (DG) and utility grid is how to Detect and prevent the problem of Islanding. There are a lot of Standards that are used for organizing the relation between DG Resources with Electric Power Systems (EPS), like IEEE 1547, that ensure that islanding must be detected and removed w...
Wind energy is rapidly growing due to technological development and the rise in global energy demand. Therefore, large-scale wind farms are being directly connected to power grids. However, integration of such wind farms into power systems presents various challenges to be solved. One of these challenges is reactive power capability which has the p...
With the increase of power system complexity beside the pressures on both utility and customers for more reliable power, arises the need for a Large Scale Real Time Power Quality Monitoring System. The information collected by such a system helps the Utility to verify the contractual requirements, report the network performance indices and identify...
