Introduction
I am PhD in Biology and Biodiversity Conservation, University of Salamanca. I am interested in the analysis of biodiversity spatial patterns using Geographic Information System (GIS) and Ecologiccal Niche Models (ENM) applied to biodiversity conservation.

Schizotetranychus hindustanicus Hirst (Acari: Tetranychidae) known as the Hindustan citrus mite, is a quarantine pest present in Roraima, Brazil. In 1924 this pest was described in India. It was reported in 2002 in Venezuela and in Roraima in 2008. In 2010, the Hindustan citrus mite was reported in Colombia. It is possible that it will be introduce...
The red palm mite, Raoiella indica Hirst, is the most invasive pest, having spread quickly to several countries. In Brazil it is already present in several regions and has a high potential for dispersion to other regions, which could severely affect the cultivation of coconuts, bananas, native and exotic palm trees, and tropical flowers, such as th...
Climate change has emerged as the main threat to global biodiversity and even the protected areas (PAs) are not immune to this problem. Here, we have focused on PAs with the aim of assessing the impacts of climate change on their habitat suitability and their effectiveness to protect threatened species, in this case three endemic Spanish plants: Is...
Embrapa Roraima - Comunicado Técnico (INFOTECA-E)
Strategies to halt the decline of biodiversity include: in-situ and ex-situ conservation, the latter already considered at the global level essential in conservation programs. The results of the germinative responses of Carex lainzii Lucevo, E. Rico & T. Romero (Cyperaceae), an endemic Spanish endangered species, are presented in this work, to diff...
Biological invasions cause great damage to native ecosystems, therefore, it is extremely important to take measures to contain the progress of existing invasions and prevent new ones. Here, we used the Species Distribution Models approach to compare two independent datasets for the invasive alien species the Yellow legged hornet in the Iberian Peni...
The performance of populations at the edge of specie’s distribution range may differ substantially from central populations. Here, we develop a modelling framework to estimate ecological niches (i.e. climatic) of four locally endangered plant species and measure the distance of marginal (geographically) populations to the species’ niche centroid in...

Hi everyone!
I'm wondering that maybe this is a stupid question, but I couldn't figured it out by myself so I need to ask.
I have two independents datasets then, I'm calibrating my models with dataset 1 and evaluating with dataset 2 and vice versa. My question is:
Is posible to run Maxent doing replicates when I'm using a "Test sample file"?
If so, which arguments do I need to change in Maxent settings in order to achieve this?
Thanks in advanced.
Best regards, Cristian.
Hello everyone,
I have some models results obtained from MaxEnt and now I want to compare these results with the results obtained from other algorithms (GAM, GLM and Random Forest). I am using the MaxEnt raw output and I am using the same presence and background points for all algorithms.
I think that I need to rescale (reclassify) the MaxEnt raw output results to do these comparable. So my question is: how can I do it? How can I rescale (reclassify) MaxEnt raw output result?
In time, I am using the function evalute from R package dismo in order to do the evaluation.
I will really appreciate any help you can provide me.
Best regadrs, Cristian
