Study the effects of the roads at a local and landscape scale on the reproductive behavior, richness and composition of anuran amphibian species, which allow defining strategies for the conservation and management of local amphibian populations. Determine the relative abundance and richness of anuran species in breeding sites associated with roads with differential vehicular traffic rates and different characteristics of the surrounding landscape. Study the effect of roads as dispersal barriers and the direct impact of mortality on anurans. Evaluate the magnitude of the noise-effect on the communication of different species of anurans in sites associated with roads with different levels of acoustic disturbance. Explore the behavioral strategies of the species to avoid or reduce acoustic interference. Analyze at the local and landscape scale the effect of the attributes of the reproductive sites, fragmentation and habitat degradation (structural, by land use and/or functional, by the effect of noise) on the richness and composition of anuran species in areas adjacent to roads.

OE 1. Estudiar y comparar diferentes sitios con distintos grados de actividad agrícola y ganadera con sitios control o de producción orgánica, evaluando aspectos de las historias de vida de los anfibios locales tales como: edad promedio, longevidad poblacional, edad reproductiva y crecimiento individual. OE 2. Determinar la esperanza de vida de poblaciones de anuros locales disponibles de colecciones herpetológicas que se correspondan con las áreas de trabajo y compararlas con las poblaciones actuales estableciendo los efectos históricos de la actividad agrícola en las poblaciones de anfibios de la región. OE 3. Definir los efectos de la actividad agrícola en las poblaciones de larvas de anfibios mediante el análisis de su desarrollo, crecimiento, dieta y éxito en la metamorfosis empleando el método de trasplante recíproco de larvas.
