Introduction
Current research activities are examining European, national and regional policies, such as Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3), towards their impact on public economics and fiscal policies. Also, the research journey focussing on positioning small and medium-sized ports in maritime research will also be pursued further. Lastly, the interplay of creativity as driver for innovation and sustainable development within different areas is further explored as promising approach for new knowledge.
