Introduction
Christoph van Treeck (Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil.) is full professor for energy efficiency and sustainable building at RWTH Aachen University. Beforehand, he worked in leading position at the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics and was Associate Professor (Privatdozent) at the Technische Universität München. He has a Ph.D. in computational civil engineering and is specialized in computational fluid mechanics, thermal comfort, building performance simulation and building information modelling. He is director at large of the board of directors of the International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA), on the editorial board of the Journal of Building Performance Simulation, co-operating agent of IEA EBC Annex 60 and member of the BMWi Begleitforschung.
