The ability to deal with emotional information is critical because, on the one hand, it could prevent potential physical harm or unpleasant social interactions. On the other hand, it could promote physical pleasure or pleasant social interactions.
Although there is a consensus around the fact that emotional information affects motor processes, the empirical findings are often contradictory. Given the importance of the interactions between emotional information with ongoing motor/cognitive processes for generating appropriate responses, the current project aims to understand whether and how emotional processing affects planning and suppression of motor actions.
