Diabetes mellitus, particularly type 2 diabetes, is a major global health issue, the prevalence of which seems to be on the rise worldwide. Interventions such as healthy diet, physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight, and medication (for those with a diagnosis of diabetes) are among the most effective strategies to prevent and control diabet...
Background
Listeriosis is a severe disease/infection which affects humans and animals and occurs as an invasive/non-invasive form caused by Listeria monocytogenes. This bacterium contaminates food during processing, distribution and even refrigerated storage. The high mortality rate associated with this disease makes it a paramount global health co...
The recent emergence of difficult-to-treat bacterial infections has posed a global public health threat. The consequent effects are increasing antibiotic resistance and a declining pipeline of effective antibiotics. Explicitly, combined with active drug efflux, multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacteria cell wall is protected by impermeable lipopol...
In the past two decades, the emergence of coronavirus diseases has been dire distress on both continental and global fronts and has resulted in the search for potent treatment strategies. One crucial challenge in this search is the recurrent mutations in the causative virus spike protein, which lead to viral escape issues. Among the current promisi...
Antibiotic resistance represents a serious global health concern and has stimulated the development of antimicrobial nanomaterials to combat resistant bacteria. Protein-based nanoparticles combining characteristics of both proteins and nanoparticles offer advantages including high biocompatibility, attractive biodegradability, enhanced bioavailabil...
Nitric oxide (NO)-releasing nanoparticles are effective nanomedicines with diverse therapeutic advantages compared with small molecule-based NO donors. Here, we report a new class of furoxan-based NO-releasing nanoparticles using a simple, creative yet facile coassembly approach. This is the first time we demonstrated that the coassembled NO-releas...
The emergence of SARS‐COV‐2, the causative agent of new coronavirus disease (COVID‐19) has become a pandemic threat. Early and precise detection of the virus is vital for effective diagnosis and treatment. Various testing kits and assays, including nucleic acid detection methods, antigen tests, serological tests, and enzyme‐linked immunosorbent ass...
Background The increasing emergence of multidrug resistance and resistant 'superbugs' has posed significant threats to public health and has become a major challenge in the treatment of infections [1]. Therefore, there is an urgent need for development of new/alternative generic antibacterial agents. Despite, their rapid action mechanism, biocompat...
A readily distinguishable and indigenous member of the plant kingdom in the Indian subcontinent is the ‘drumstick tree’, i.e. Moringa oleifera Lam. In addition to India, this drought-tolerant and rapidly evolving tree is currently extensively disseminated across the globe, including subtropical and tropical areas. The plant boasts a high nutritiona...
Being the most widely cultivated and consumed plant food, cereals have been known to humans since ancient times. The rich nutritional profile of cereals, namely, vitamins, minerals, dietary fiber, proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates; together with the abundance of certain secondary metabolites makes cereals an excellent source of high value nutrace...
Anthocyanins are polyphenolic compounds belonging to the group of flavonoids in charge of providing red, purple, and blue colourations to different parts of trees and plants, such as leaves, flowers, fruits, roots, and stems. These substances have potential health benefits due to characteristics such as antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties,...
In the past twenty years, several viral infections including Ebola virus, avian H7N9 and coronaviruses (SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV) have emerged with the recent one been the novel SARS-CoV-2. This CoV strain (COVID-19) has caused fatal respiratory problems and death that is of great public health concern, adding a tremendous economic burden worldwide. It i...
The novel coronavirus named by WHO and Coronavirus Study Group (CSG) as SARS-COV-2 is the etiological agent of the newly emerged Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). COVID-19 has become a pandemic threat as the WHO declared it a public health emergency of international concern. Early and precise detection of the virus is important for effective diagnosi...

Question (1)
The LL - 37 antimicrobial peptide has been fused to another protein and solubilizing partner.
I am currently facing problem expressing this Heterologous protein in the soluble fraction. I realized that the problem is from the LL -37 in the construct. I have tried various lysis method, IPTG conc, expression conditions ( temperature /time ).
Please any idea ?
