A mission out of the planetary system, launched about the year 2000, could provide valuable scientific data as well as test some of the technology for a later mission to another star. Primary scientific objectives for the precursor mission concern characteristics of the heliopause, the interstellar medium, stellar distances (by parallax measurement...

A mission out of the planetary system, launched about the year 2000, could provide valuable data concerning characteristics of the heliopause, the interstellar medium, stellar distances (by parallax measurements), low-energy cosmic rays, interplanetary gas distribution, and mass of the solar system. Secondary objectives include investigation of Plu...
Article
Apparatus for transmitting multiple channels of data across a rotating interface, such as between an antenna that rotates with respect to a platform, is described. Features of the apparatus include: (1) light emitter elements and light detector elements located on the two bodies that rotate relative to each other; (2) a lens for focusing light from...

Results are presented for a study on mission definition and design to determine broad technology directions and needs for advanced planetary spacecraft and future planetary missions. The discussion covers mission selection, system design, and technology assessment and review for a multicomponent spacecraft exploration facility provided with nuclear...

Question
VLBI (Very Long Baseline Interferometry) assumes that one way light velocity is the same as that derived from two way measurements and other experiments based on Maxwell's equations. VLBI works both for thermal sources and pulsars. Should this be considered a validation of one way light speed measurement or a complex illusion?
