The 3M Preschool Routines Functioning Scale is a 25-item scale that evaluates child functioning among common preschool classroom routines. It is completed by the teacher. It has been developed base on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health(ICF, WHO, 2007) and McWilliam 's (1996) three foundations of learning (i.e., engagement, independence and social relationships). This project aims to validate this scale for Spanish children, aged between 36 and 71 months, and attending preschool classrooms.
Project
We are currently conducting this study in Valencia, Spain. It looks at children’s engagement across preschool classroom routines and its relationship to child-related variables (i.e. developmental level and emotional strengths/difficulties), as mediated by teachers’ teaching style and classroom quality.
