Introduction
Carole Després holds a Ph.D. in Environment-Behavior Studies. She is the co-founder of the Interdisciplinary Research Group on Suburbs (GIRBa) whose mission is to understand and act on aging suburbs and buildings in relationship to demographic change and sustainable redevelopment. GIRBa’s approach favors exchanges between scientific research, action research and design research. She is also heading SCHOLA.ca, a research consortium whose mission is to develop a digital platform of decision-aid tools to guide the national "primary and secondary school renovation program" undertaken by the Quebec government in Canada. The tools under development will be the outcome of combined original research, scientific evidences and collaboration with the concerned stakeholders and users.
